Meet Elvia Maya

Elvia Maya is a dedicated environmentalist and advocate in search of empowerment through writing. After the painful loss of her mom at the age of 17, she struggled to find hope while pursuing her purpose in life. “The Ethereal Environmentalist” was born from this dismal place, especially following the tragedies of 2020. This blog represents a beam of light through the darkness of our tumultuous times.

Elvia Maya has published and narrated a cohesive trilogy following an international climate writer’s retreat, co-authored an international scientific report detailing the social and environmental justice impacts of plastic, and guest lectured at institutions across California (including Stanford University and Cuesta College).
