Blog #26: My ancestors’ wildest dreams
I never thought the words I’m about to say would become reality, but it’s true that the manifestations that are meant for you always come to fruition when you least expect them to.
By the end of this week, I will be departing on my first solo international trip to Chamonix, France, to write for Ethereal Environmentalist among other climate change authors who are working on their own projects. It’ll be a week-long retreat to meditate in the French Alps, focus on my blog, receive feedback from seasoned writers, and reciprocate feedback for their works. The trip is sponsored by Stanford’s Climate Writers Group, and a lot of the participants are already acquainted with each other through this connection. They are all authors, some are also scientists, professors and journalists. I happen to be the youngest of the group, and the only one working on a blog (the majority are working on books). Never in a million years did I think I would have an opportunity like this.
I have my colleague, Claudia, to thank for this unbelievable chance to elevate and expand my body of work as the Ethereal Environmentalist. Claudia came across the flyer for this retreat and immediately sent it to me with my blog in mind. I jumped at the opportunity and thankfully got in at the perfect time because the organizers were looking for one or two more writers to complete their group.
Growing up, I always expressed my desire to explore the world. My astrological sign is Sagittarius, and one of the hallmark characteristics of my sign is “the adventurer.” My love for travel is literally written into the stars, yet I didn’t always have opportunities to fulfill that dream.
When I was in high school, I remember how many trips and study abroad opportunities I had to turn down because I couldn’t afford to go. My mom supported our family as a single mother, so I never gave her much grief about it (well, maybe just a little). It made me sad to see my peers go on these kinds of trips without a shred of a doubt. People like me, from my background, don’t always get to experience places and opportunities like this.
There’s no doubt that my ancestors are smiling down at me and sending an endless stream of blessings my way.
I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams. I am forever indebted to them for sending me down this path. I will continue to send my prayers up to the sky throughout this spectacular journey, and channel my ancestors’ messages to produce the most raw and authentic work. I can’t wait for you to read what’s to come. <3

Although I am mentally and spiritually prepared to embark on this journey, I have a small favor to ask my blog audience.
I unfortunately have to take unpaid time off from work during this time, and there are a number of costs that are accruing as I physically prepare for the trip. Flights, bus travel, clothes, and food all add up. If you are able to donate, I would be deeply appreciative! Your donation will directly support original content about ways to save our planet through remembering and honoring indigenous spirituality, our sacred connection to Mother Earth.
You can send a donation through venmo here:
If you’re unable to donate, I still want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a reader of the Ethereal Environmentalist. Your support fills me with so much joy and purpose that I am often overwhelmed with love. Writing for this blog and seeing the ways you interact with it has saved me in more ways than one. I pray all your manifestations come true in the most unexpected ways. <3
